REVUE THOMMEN GT Movements

Unlike many other watch 'manufacturers' REVUE THOMMEN has a very long and proud tradition in manufacturing the movements for many of it's watches, having produced over 100 different GT movements since 1853. The watchmaking skills posessed by the company in it's earliest days are still thriving within the business today, in the Swiss region of Jura, near Basel.

Without it's qualified watchmakers, REVUE THOMMEN would not be able to develop and produce mechanical watch movements and therefore the training of apprentices is still of utmost importance to the company. In this way, REVUE THOMMEN preserves and develops it's know-how in the construction of it's timepieces

Movement: GT 56

Two mechanical movements, the calibre GT 44 and GT 12 form the framework for the current range. With the addition of an automatic winding mechanism, the GT 44 becomes the GT 54 and with a smaller second display it becomes the GT 55. With a large date hand, it becomes the GT 56. With the addition of a small second and a skeleton design, the GT 12 becomes the GT 14

With highly skilled watchmakers in the factory, the desire to create even more sophisticated movements is able to flourish. With a display of power reserve, moon phase, small second and date hand, the GT 56 movement is a delight for connoisseurs. Virtually all of the 180+ watches that have GT movements also have glass case backs, allowing friends of the art of watchmaking to observe these small technical marvels at work
